Presentation and Objectives
The Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC) is the most important forum of the research and development community on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems in Brazil. Among the main activities of the SBRC, there are short courses, which allow the community to update themselves on topics that are not normally covered in the curricular structures or that arouse great interest among academics and professionals. Proposals are welcome in recent areas, or still little explored, and on topics with great potential to attract students' and professionals' interest to better qualify them for their research and/or professional skills. Short Courses may be submitted covering the themes suggested in the Call for Papers of SBRC 2021 or even others that the authors deem relevant.
Each submitted proposal will be evaluated by three or more members of the evaluation committee. The following criteria will be considered in the evaluation: relevance and timeliness of the theme for the event, technical quality of the proposal and experience of the proponents in the proposed subject, and scope of the target audience profile. The best submissions on different topics will be accepted for presentation and publication.
Textbook
The selected short courses' authors must produce a chapter for publication in the book "Short courses SBRC 2021". The chapter must be written in Portuguese or English and contain between 40 and 50 pages, following the SBC format, available at https://www.sbc.org.br/documentos-da-sbc, in the section "Publicações -> Templates para Artigos e Capítulos de Livros".
The Short Courses textbooks will be published on the SBC OpenLib Platform (SOL), the digital library maintained by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), and will be freely available to the society.
Submission of Proposals
Professors and researchers interested in teaching a short course must submit a proposal of 6 to 8 pages (excluding CVs - item 6 below), containing the information listed below:
Instructions to authors

At least one of the authors of each selected short course must register with the SBRC and present it at the event.
