Presentation and Objectives
The SBRC Demo Session is a meeting forum for developers and researchers interested in the architecture, implementation, and practical assessment of systems and tools that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in computer networks and distributed systems. For a more practical purpose, there is an emphasis on demonstrating systems and tools, on the experience of their development, on issues of implementation and use, and the perspectives created by them.
The 2021 edition of the Demo Session will be held in Uberlândia, MG, as part of the grid of activities of the 39th Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC 2021).
Topics of Interest
All works that present systems and tools that can contribute to the advancement of knowledge in computer networks and distributed systems are of interest to the SBRC Tools Salon. In general, the topics of interest are, initially, the same as those of the main SBRC track that includes:
Instructions to authors
The tools must be presented in an article that must be submitted exclusively electronically, through the JEMS System. Articles can be written in Portuguese or English and submitted only in PDF format. Each article is limited to 8 pages, including an abstract, figures, diagrams, references, and annexes. Papers must be formatted according to the SBC article model.
The article must contain the following information:
Also, we request that the authors send a document, up to 2 pages, describing the planned demonstration for the SBRC and informing the necessary equipment for this.
The requested information and the effective existence of the indicated URLs are indispensable for the evaluation of the works. The video is mandatory. Its purpose is to assist reviewers and readers who, for some reason, have difficulty installing and using the tool. It is recommended to use a free website for uploading videos such as Youtube or Vimeo.
The Demo Session proceedings published on the SBC OpenLib Platform (SOL), the digital library maintained by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), and free of charge to the society.
Tool Requirements
The Demo Session addresses experimental results and functional systems/tools available for use. Although works in progress are accepted, it must be possible for them to be demonstrated and available at a URL along with their documentation at the time of article submission.
All accepted tools must be demonstrated and also presented in the conventional format of SBRC technical sessions.
Evaluation
The evaluation process will consider the quality, relevance, and innovation of the practical results, its documentation, the explanatory video, the submitted article, and the proposed demonstration for the SBRC 2021 Demo Session. A specific committee will choose the best tool among those accepted.
